01 Jan 2012

My first post of 2012 (from here in Germany at least!). Wooohooo!

Here's to a good year! Brost!

Ok so my champagne is actually a Blush. What can I say, I don't like dry anything.

I didn't think I was gonna be up for the clock to strike midnight and I probably wouldn't be if it weren't for the German's and there obsessiveness over Fireworks. The one time in the year when they can go hog wild. Of course fireworks just means a trembling-scared-shitless dog. He actually wasn't to bad about it this year. Hopefully he'll let me go back to sleep soon.

My day wasn't to shabby but for some reason the holiday's this year just seem to result in me being sick. Christmas I had a bad cold. New Years i've had dizziness and bouts of nausea. It could be just nerves about our upcoming PCS that got me all rattled and near vomitting. Or I could be pregnant but I highly doubt this as i've had my monthly 'no baby' sign or because a test said negative lol (one can only dream right?). I need to seriously get my stress under control because 3 months of stressing can not be good on the body. If only my massage therapist was back in town. She's currently visiting family in the states for a while. Oh how I will miss her massages when we're gone.

For our new years snacks this year we made Jalapeno Poppers (recipe here), Fried Zucchini (recipe here), and these taco things that Rob heard about from a friend. Basicly you take the little dipping cup-like tortilla chips, fill them with refried beans, top them with cheese, pop them in the oven till the cheese is melted. Then take some sour cream and mix in taco seasoning and dip the filled cups in the seasoned sour cream. Quite tastey actually.

I never tried the poppers as I don't care for jalapeno's but Rob mashed them down fast. So obviously it's a good recipe. One commenter's suggestion I followed was dipping them in flour before dipping them in the egg so the egg sticks better. As for the fried zucchini...the smell of them deep frying made me want to vomit even more. They didn't taste that bad and Rob suggested dipping them in Ranch dressing which actually tasted good. A little seasoning of some sort would probably have been good in the batter though.

Oh yea and as of Yesterday (friday) we officialy have our orders! Yup that piece of paper that clarifies that we'll be moving to DM and the date we're supposed to be out of this joint. Of course not much will really be done in the planning department until February. All there is in January I think is a 'pre-pcs' breifing. Granted we don't have to be out till the end of March i'm still opting to quit the beginning of February. A little bit of freedom before we move will be nice.

Oh yea, and we FINALY got our car back!!! I washed it, vacuumed it and cleaned some of the interior. It was kind of musty smelling from sitting for 2 months. The breaks kept freaking me out on our drive home so I ended up having Rob switch cars with me. I guess the break thingies got a little rusty from sitting for 2 months. But so far she's running. Now I just need to get her in for a squeeky belt and to get our wind sheild wiper stick (the part on the steering wheel) fixed because I can't use my fluid since the thing broke randomly over the summer. Rob still claims he has no idea how it happened but it seemed to mysteriously happen while I was visiting the states. Who knows.

So thats about it for now. Hope you had a great New Year's!
